retrospect
I sometimes say to my self "how unlucky i am". do not take this as a retrospect of a dying man, no, it is a flash back of a youth who just passed 20 years of his life.well ! it is mentioned in Buddhism that having a birth as a human being is in itself a great feat. But when we come to this world, various hurdles are presented to us by ourselves as i believe it.We set targets ,goals and make a run for it.nonstop marathon. we are what we think. Most human beings fail in their attempt to achieve their own set targets. few would succeed. But are they satisfied, answer is no. as humans we have an unquenchable desire.Take my life as an example, mine was mainly based on achieving educational success, most children would crave to have the chances i had. I know it. I was expected to do my studies well and enter to the medical faculty. Then I thought that if I passed this exam[a/l] my burden would be over. now i know that i'm wrong. Now I want to become a doctor, a distinguished one. Will it be over then, surely not.so basically when we make plans, when we ponder about our future, when we dream, we make our burden unbearable, which paves the way for our failure. The failure will break some, those who do not break will become more strong and renew their run. So,if everything has a purpose, what is expected of us as human beings. The society at large expects us to continue the running till our dying moment. But wise men, sheds all their worldly bonds and seek to attain inner peace.I think the purpose of having a human life is to find an answer to the question "how do we stop this never ending race" because if our worldly achievements bring us not solace but more and more hurdles there we can find no satisfaction. DO NOT DWELL IN THE PAST AND DO NOT PONDER ABOUT THE FUTURE, CONCENTRATE ON THE PRESENT MOMENT.[quote: Lord Buddha]
